Quaestor Director becomes local Councillor
Amanda Milling, Director of the Finance team at Quaestor Research has been elected as local Councillor for Helmshore at Rossendale Borough Council.
Amanda was one of three candidates standing in the Helmshore by-election which took place on the 4th of June 2009 and ran at the same time as the County Council and European Elections. Amanda received more than 1000 votes which is more than twice as many as her nearest opponent.
Commenting on her election, Amanda said: “I am obviously delighted and honoured to have been chosen to represent fellow residents of Helmshore. I strongly believe that the skills I have developed as a qualitative researcher over the last 12 years are highly relevant and transferable to those required to be a Councillor – both in terms of listening and representing the views of residents, and informing and shaping decision making. I am very grateful to Andrew and the management team at Quaestor who have been hugely supportive. I feel that the business recognises the benefits to me, in terms of my personal and skill development and, in turn, the knock on benefits to the business from having a different perspective brought to the management team.”
Andrew Wiseman, CEO of Quaestor said: “We are absolutely delighted Amanda has been elected and we know she will be a worthy representative of the people of Helmshore. Those who work with Amanda and the Quaestor Finance team will be pleased to hear that she will wholeheartedly continue to fulfil all of her commitments to Quaestor and her clients, as well as getting stuck into this exciting new opportunity.”
